This photo has Tim who is HORSE MACGYVER on the left.
His set on the 30th Dec at The Tote was one of my favorite shows in awhile. He’s encompassing a sound that is dark, rhythmically based with roots that could be found in hip hop, industrial and noise music.
His sax playing brought me both to the violently apathetic punk edge of James Chance in simultaneous force with the smooth soulful croon of my warped Kenny G cassette. His vocal lines are intergalactically enhanced. The set felt totally raw, sexy refreshing.
As a sonic idea it has all the components that I like about CS but in Horse Macgyver there’s a feeling of true freedom that we’ve not yet found. In him we see there are no more restrictions, it is only time to groove. Now to tell the whole world ey!
